Piston Care And First Use
Piston First Use
Your brand-new Piston is hot off the press. Each has been assembled to have that perfect fit, but they haven’t yet been bedded in fully; you get to experience that joy for yourself. As the pin beds into its new home in the cylinder, you’ll find that over time your Piston gets smoother. This means you can perform all our swanky spins and tricks in no time! To help things along just keep on pushing and pulling and playing, and you’ll be a Piston Pro in no time. Removing the pressure release cap and passing the piston pin through the cylinder block repeatedly is a good trick to bed them in nice and quickly.
Care & Love
When you first receive your Piston it will have a coating of machining oil to keep things safe and smooth during transit, but you’ll want to gently wipe this off with a lint free cloth before you get to fidgeting. This is a mechanical item so like anything that moves, keep it away from sandpits or submerging it in mud, and keep it in a dry place where it won’t be exposed to too much condensation.
As it’s made from brass your Piston will form a natural patina over time, but if you want to bring back some shine, a soft cloth and metal polish will have you going for gold (…or brass?).
