Not worth it

I didn’t care too much for it. It does not have that much of a fidget spinning capability to it at all. Yes it compresses. And yes you can fling it out of the piston itself. But other than that, it is very awkward to try to get it to do just about anything fidgety. It was a complete letdown and one I had to wait 4 months to get

Hi Sean, We're sorry to hear about this. Making the housing spin can take some practice, but most of the technique is getting the spin just right to ensure the weight is distributed evenly for the air bearing to work! If you haven't already, please get in touch with our customer service and they may have some more tips about getting the most of your Piston! Cheers, Team MetMo

Great piston

My second brass piston. Works great. Only caveat is that I use it in the dual piston stand, and the other brass piston is the first version. The newest version is even better than the first version which creates a slight asymmetry in strength between them. You may want to consider this if you find yourself wanting to do the same thing and already have a first version of the brass piston. My solution will be to get a third piston, so that I have one to fidget with, and two newest version ones for the dual piston stand.

Home run

MetMo has found their groove with this one. The fit & finish which makes the unique action possible is impeccable. The design does utilize one o-ring tucked deep into the endcap; but the sharp threads create a satisfying resistance to the piston on their own even when half unscrewed. Maintenance is necessary to keep the brass sliding smoothly: a little polish with vinegar takes the patina off and brings back the shine. It’s a clever design with enormous payoff for the exacting precision manufacturing required to pull off this ambitious vision. And the team at MetMo knocked it out of the park.

MetMo A Go!!

I’ve bought both the original and Stainless Steel pistons with the dual piston stand and I’m really pleased with them all! They feel great in the hand and I love the precision engineering and the finish. Not sure if the dual piston sealing O rings could do with being a slightly smaller diameter (?) but I found it best if you ensure the O ring is fully seated and both parts are carefully screwed together it beds ok - a couple of spares wouldn’t go amiss either! Overall, I love having the complete set - the material quality and precision engineering are faultless. Well done MetMo! 👍👍

New favorite fidget just wish it came with a case

I was unsure if I would actually enjoy the piston or not but after using it for the last 3 weeks I actually really love it. The smooth gliding experience is very addicting. I will hold it and just spin the piston with my thumb over and over. It's quite relaxing. I also love how it has so many different ways to mess with it. I personally do not care for shooting the piston out but find all the other methods quite enjoyable. The big downside I have with it is that it did not come with a carrying case to protect it. I have bought fidgets for a quarter of the price that came with a nice case so it was rather disappointing to see nothing come with this especially considering it is made of soft brass and could easily get ruined. I ended up taking one of the cases from another fidget device and that works alright but I would have really preferred the company provide something better suited for this item. This is the main reason I removed a star despite loving the actual piston.I also wish the edges on the top piston were smoother. They are actually quite sharp and slowly peels the skin on my thumb from excessively bouncing the piston. I sometimes reverse the piston as the other side isn't sharp and can be a bit more pleasant. So overall I highly recommend.

Lost in transit

I think I would’ve LOVED the plunger but it was lost between the shipper and the US and I’ve emailed, commented, tried finding customer service etc but not a single reply for assistance. FedEx told me to contact the company because they cannot help me. I don’t know what else to do but leave a review. I waited from December till the expected arrival time of May 15th after paying $80 or something. Buyer beware!!!

Hey Scott,I'm so sorry to hear this! It looks like our team replied on May 20th and May 23rd to your emails, but we haven't received anything from you since then. I'll ask them to resend, and I'd recommend checking your spam folders for the reply just in case.Apologies again, and please know we'll get this sorted for you! Thanks,Team MetMo

Really Unique Fidget & Endless Fun!

I had to wait 4+ months before my order priority was finally put in production and shipped to me. However, I can honestly say, it was WELL worth the wait. I got my package in the mail and opened it with reverence, while being in awe of the thoughtful effort put into the luxurious packaging of the Piston. Once I finished reading through the included suggestions and packing list, I picked up my Piston as if it were a freshly laid egg from a golden(or brass) goose. The hefty feeling instilled in me only reinforced how pristine and unique this item was. Intoxicated with finding out the MANY ways to fidget with the Piston, I found my eyes darting from one feature to another, taking in the craftsmanship the Metmo team dedicated to building my Piston. I must have held my Piston and played with it for around 4 hours on the first day I received it. Since then, it has become a mainstay at my desk or while watching a show in the evening. The way it sits perfectly in my palm makes me think it was designed specifically for my hands. The effortlessness of gripping my Piston gives me a sense of almost indescribable security. Everything feels right in the world when I have my Metmo in hand. The precision machining on the Piston sets this fidget apart from the others in my collection. Tight tolerances mean something different to every person, but to the master craftsman at Metmo, they're viewed as a challenge. "How close together can we get these two pieces of metal before they're considered 1 piece of metal?" must be the question they strive to answer. If I hadn't known before opening my package that the Piston was a pneumatic cylinder, there would have been no chance I would have believed it. The sheer metallic properties of a softer brass allow the Piston to become a work of art instead of just another desk toy. I was so thoroughly impressed with my Brass Piston that when I got the notification that Metmo was releasing a Stainless Steel version, I immediately secured a spot in line for my next dose of precision perfection by the absolute madmen at Metmo! If you haven't purchased a Piston yet, you need to. Not because some stranger said so, but because I guarantee you will be kicking yourself if you don't. Stop reading, and start buying. Yes, I'm talking to you. Seriously, you're already on the page, just do it.

I got advertised this on Facebook

I don’t know what this is, I was advertised it on Facebook. I looked at the site and still have no idea. I didn’t buy one but have included some pictures of me looking baffled as to what it is. Your product made me pull this face. Why does this exist? Why does anything exist? Seriously though, what is it? Have that at the top of your website. I never write reviews, this is how compelled I was to write this, because your site needs some precision engineering to explain your product. What have you targeted on Facebook that made them think I would like this? I follow a group called uk pubs and a group called London pubs… that’s it; how does that gel with what I’m looking at? Someone is wasting your advertising revenue. It’s probably cost you 40p for me to click on your website. Is it a door stop? Or just a thing people fidget with for no reason? People need to start smoking again, they are getting too fidgety.Other than that though, top notch product, would recommend

Simplicity and elegance

Peg, Shay and Team MetMo,I just want to say thanks and give congratulations for your Piston! This was an unexpected product but for me maybe the best. This may seem a weird statement, given the excellence of all your creations and products so far, which are all more technically complicated and useful. Your new Piston is useful to the mind. Its simplicity and at the same time its almost unbelievable exacting production tolerances provide an example of the very best of creativity and engineering. I truly believe that it will be an archetype for other budding creators to come up with follow-on products.Until now I have considered your original Cube to be your finest product. And the tolerances of this product are amazing, allowing for a very smooth movement within the Cube. The Piston has taken this movement and in a very simple way added the pneumatic power movement to it.Thank you.I have at least one of all your creations so far, and have given others of these to my sons and brothers. I look forward to what comes next.Peter NicholsVirginia, USAOriginally sent December 18, 2024

Was great fun for about 30 minutes

I think it's a testament to the precision engineering required for an air bearing to function because when I was giving the different tricks from the video a try I did the pop out and it landed just right on the inner lip of the piston body, made a *tiny* divot, and is not non-functional. All I did was place it on my desk and pop it off like shown in the promo video.I was already going to ding it a star because the 45 degree chamfer on the piston head is uncomfortable to push against with your finger when you're just using it. Another purely aesthetic aspect (i.e. wouldn't affect my rating on it's own but is worth noting) is my piston, at least, sticks out above the piston body ~0.3mm.I'm still giving it 3-stars because while function it's really fun, but you're going to have to baby it to make sure it stays functional.

Hey Patrick,Thanks for your review! We appreciate the feedback, and I wanted to let you know that we're aware that some of the pins have a minor protrusion due to the gasket, usually only when the Piston is fully tightened. We're actually looking into some amendments to improve this as we speak! Thanks again,Team MetMo

I ordered a MetMo mist on and when it arrived it didn’t work correctly. I spoke with the customer service team and they were extremely helpful (specifically Lindsie) they provided excellent advice and when it was apparent there was a defect in my piston they sent me a new one which works perfectly! 10/10

A great new fidget toy to add to my desk at work

Item is very well made and well packed. It performs as I expected it to and I am happy with my purchase.
I think that if the outside of the barrel was etched with a spiral it would easier and more pleasing to see it spinning and if a spiral design instead of the concentric rings, could machined or etched to the top of the piston similar benefits would result.

Beautifully made, and haven't put it down since buying it. The brass is is soft, so would maybe get the stainless if I was to replace it...
