Getting to Grips...With History!

Nowadays, we're all used to seeing the adjustable wrenches that come in every multi-piece toolkit from Scandinavian stores or where-have-you.

Before the era of the modern adjustable wrench, there was a bloody conflict in the early part of the 20th Century. A conflict which today remains largely forgotten, but is of the utmost importance to the development of modern day tools.

We speak, of course, of the Wrench Wars.

Get to grips with a MetMo

I love it, it's a well-made quality product that is both unique in design and purpose. I have found several uses for it already and it performs all tasks very well. I even used it as a small hammer for some tacks to secure a piece of leather to a chair, tightening nuts on my guitar and removing a switch from my way pedal. And then there's the fidget factor, I also removed the top off my beer bottle and turned some hex bits with this tool as well. What's not to like, I’m glad I bought it and highly recommended to anyone else who might be on the fence about doing the same. Adrian UK

the more you use it

at first the grip was tight and worked ok after some medium use the grip is now sloppy and does not work well it is a conversation piece only. not worth it

Thank you for your feedback, and we're sorry to hear that! Something doesn't sound quite right with your Grip so I'll have our customer service team reach out and they can take a closer look. We'll get this sorted for you!CheersTeam MetMo

The Real deal

I have found two different knockoffs of this on the web. Both were hard to adjust and didn’t lock up well. The first thing I noticed with the Metmo was the weight. Heavy and perfectly made. Adjusts smooth as glass and stays there.

Needs time to work in for smoothness

I am using the grip at work .the initial quality is average the tool needs break in time.long term the grip will be better than average

Beautifully made, kind of inconvenient in your pocket though

Well made tool, kind of how I remember tools being decades ago. Opens slightly wider than my Bahco 6" adjustable, but takes up more space in the pocket. Overall, beautifully made, interesting mechanism and serves more than one purpose. I didn't need it at all, but I like it a lot.

Grip review.

I am a mechanical engineering graduate. I returned the item as I felt, considering the cost, the tool was poorly machined with poor tolerances. I also felt customer services were reluctant to accept the return. However, they did and provided a prompt, full refund upon return of the item.

Very cool as a fidget but doesn’t hold so well as an adjustable wrench.

Not smooth and binds

I love Metmo and have bought quite a few things from them. I just got my Grip in the mail, and while it is cool, the action does not glide easily and binds often. very hard and stuck sometimes too. I tried lubricating it and running it over and over and it is still the same. It is cool though. Just not working how I expected it to work.

Sturdy but jams

Functionally its fine and well built but the sliding action is not smooth. The action tends to jam up when trying to open and close the jaw. I feel like that was a pretty big selling point that missed.

Hey Aaron,I'm sorry to hear that! If you're able, can you send a video of this to our customer service team on hello@metmocube.com and they can help out with this.

Metmo Ajustable Wrench

I don’t know how it works. I don’t know why it works. But, it doesn’t just work, it works well. The wrench grabs a hold of a nut and doesn’t let go. It also easy to adjust. My only problem with tool is that it is almost too beautiful to use.

A tool so smooth

As soon as I unpacked this MM Grip, it felt right. The sliding action was very smooth with no sticking points. Actually the packaging is pretty impressive and that sets your mind with a good feeling of confidence in paying a lot for one hand tool. But sooo worth it. I thought it would need "breaking in" but it is delightful to use from the word “go”.

MetMo Grip

Looks gorgeous but the jaw is pretty wobbly even when it locksI'd hoped that for the price, it would be a bit more precision madeI had planned to use it rather than display it but...

Grip review

It is far and away the most effective shifting spanner i have ever used, and it is a lot more. Beautifully engineered, aesthetically pleasing and incredibly versatile.

Great tool and fidget item

This thing is smooth as silk and works great.

Great Device

This is more than a tool. In my tool box it adds a very precise and smoothly adjustable wrench, with both flat and pincher business ends. But it is also a piece of art, something I like to leave around on my work table or desk to be admired and played with by friends. And, secret be told, it is a fidget device that draws my fingers into action when I have nothing to do but dream up clever ideas or just engage in idle play.

M
Matthew

Does not operate very smoothy and binds frequently.

Hi Matthew,
We're sorry to hear that! This isn't what we'd expect from a Grip, though sometimes they do need a little bit of working in to get them running as smooth as possible. That said, if you'd like to replace or return your Grip you can get in touch with our customer service team on hello [at] metmocube [dot] com.
Thanks,
Team MetMo

MetMo Grip

I really liked the tool, very well made. I would also like the bolts and rod to be made of stainless steel as well
