A Home For Your Vise

Don’t have anywhere to attach your vise it but really want to get it down somewhere? An old chopping board could work.... or how about this this full metal Desktop Workstation!

Heavy Duty

Made from hard anodised aluminium with a ground stainless steel plate that can be used as a work surface or swapped out with a cutting mat (stored underneath). If you ever wanted your own miniature metal shop, this is as close as it gets.

Hardwearing Workhorse

Bolt your Fractal Vise to this beastie in your preferred configuration and then get crafting. This is designed to be a hardwearing workhorse that you can use for modelling, soldering, metal and glass work, and probably even some low level smithing.

The Name's Cutting, Matt Cutting

A premium cutting mat with a smooth cutting surface that will protect both your work surface and your precious knife blades. This can be tucked under the metal surface plate when not in use.

Stainless Steel Surface Plate

Okay, technically not a calibrated surface plate, but the next best thing for the home desktop. 5mm of solid steel that you can use as a flat building surface, soldering area, or if you just need to hit something with a hammer. This surface will be the backbone of any bench, like a tiny anvil for tiny creations.

Much like the cutting mat it can be used in situ or taken out and used to the side to improve your workflow.

Rule the World

A stainless steel rule that sits flush into the baseplate and lines up next to the cutting mat for a speedy measure, or pop it up and remove it to get a quick cut. Laser marked in both metric and imperial, the rule is a neat addition to any cutting mat.

Attaching Your Vice

There are two points to attach the vice; one direct to the baseplate and one to attach the vice via the ball joint, so you can set the vice up however works best for you.

Sweet Grooves

No desk is complete without some sweet grooves. Positioned for quick access to what you’re using (and some might say conveniently sized for a MetMo Multi Drive), and also a perfect space for any number of tools like brushes, files or markers.

Tiny Parts Tray

Sometimes you just need to stop that metal ball or tiny screw from rolling away into the abyss of the grey floor. We were sure to include a little zone to store these tiny critters before they can disappear into your carpet.

A must-have for the Fractal Vise!

MetMo gives clear, step-by-step instructions on installing the vise to the workstation. The weight of this provides fantastic stability for the vise. The grooved channels at the top help you keep track of tiny parts & tools. The overall size is just right - easy to pick up and move. I never knew I could be so impressed by a metal platform. The whole setup is truly a piece of functional art! Time to go clamp some stuff…

No more chips on my work table

After attaching my last clamp onto my desk I realised the edges were just too soft to not chip. With this in mind I instantly decided to get the workstation. It was the right choice!I've got the ball joint attached as well, the weight of everything means that nothing you're working on will be shifting around your work space. The grooves are perfect for keeping brushes and craft knives in. I would say the combination of the quick release, ball joint and workstation is a perfect combination for any work situation!!

The base is the best upgrade

I love the tray for catching small parts, and the removable mat and ruler are super useful as well. The weight really works well with the weight of the clamp.

Nice upgrade for the clamp

I appreciate that I can angle my clamp however I want. I use it with the base accessory which is also awesome.

Nicely made - but the vice jaw scrapes

I concur with other reviewers comments, this is a seriously nice piece of kit and compliments my Metmo stainless steel fractal vice beautifully. But it has one serious failing, the vice won’t fully close when it is directly mounted on the workstation - the moving jaw scrapes against the aluminium base. I haven’t tightened the securing bolts excessively, there ‘s just no clearance. If I slack the bolts right off it works OK but then the vice isn’t securely fixed. I’ve had to remove the bottom plate from the moving jaw, but I really don’t like this at all. A suitable shim should be supplied with this accessory.

Perfect base for the vise

I've started model building, so I wanted a fractal vise to help me when I need three hands to do something. I also got this as somewhere to hold the vise securely without mounting it to my desk that I do my work from home office job from and it marking it or getting in the way. Plus it being on a handy tray means I can move all the bits I'm working on away to the side at the end of the day and get them out again quite easily. No need to fully pack everything away each time you're done.It holds the vise safe and securely, plus the tray holds all the bits needed - no escaping tiny screws any more! The metal sheet that comes with it for bashing stuff on has a really nice heft to it, you know it's there when you're using it! I've not reached the bashing stage of anything yet, but it's good to know it's there... plus it's removeable, so it's out of the way most of the time.Excellently made by MetMo, as usual. All nicely finished, smooth with no rough or unfinished bits. It's a work of art for tinkerers.

Perfect addition

I'm using this with the ball mount and the additional weight keeps everything in place, even when sawing, engraving or using rotary tools. And of you need some space in the tray, you can easily remove the weighted plate if not needed. The must have addition for the fractal vise if you don't want to stick to the desk mount.

Solid, stable base for a craftsperson!

This is the perfect base for the jeweler and gem cutter. From mounting stones to setting up the dop stick, this platform and vise provide the control needed.
