How Workshop Seconds Work

Inspected

Every Workshop Second is checked by the MetMo team to understand exactly why it missed Grade A.

Graded

Cosmetic imperfections become B Grade. Known mechanical imperfections become C Grade.

Sent Back to Work

You get some properly interesting engineering for less. A good product avoids becoming scrap. Everyone wins, apart from the scrap bin.

Pretty Good

The clearance grade b Metmo Grip I received worked quite well. It had some scuffs and the open/closing action did sometimes stick. The scuffs were just a cosmetic thing, while the sticking didn’t keep it from being functional. It still preforms well and does look rather unique.

Fiddle Away

Nice tool - I havent tried it yet as a tool but more as a fiddle piece. Im confident it will work ok as a tool though, there is a little movement once set but there is similar movement on most adjustable spanners.Very nice to play with and has some weight to it - Just awaiting the Metmo Cube to come back in stock!

Sliding Mechanism Seizes

I was surprised how large the Grip was when it arrived in its nicely finished presentation box. It is quite substantial. My main issue with the grip is that the sliding mechanism is not smooth and seizes often. That specific defect is part of the description for Grade C Grips, not Grade B, and so I am disappointed in how the products are described. I was expecting nicks and scuffs, but not a mechanically faulty product.I would probably recommend the Grip, if available, but not the clearance grades unless you have the ability and interest in repairing them.

As an engineer Metmo grip is right up my alley, I was impressed with the build quality and the unique styling, nice one guys.
